KARGIL WAR MEMORIAL MUSEUM
After had darshan at Amarnath ,I went to Leh via kargil and visited this war memorial and paid my homage to the Brave soldiers who laid their lives for the Country.given big salute to them with closed eyes tears rolled out through my chin while thinking their brave heroic act in my mind for protecting our Mother land. JAI HIND JAI BHARATH The Kargil War Memorial is a war memorial built by the Indian Army in the town of Dras, commemor ating the 1999 Kargil War between India and Pakistan.[1] The memorial is located on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway 1D,[2] about 5 km from the city centre across the Tiger Hill. In the winter of 1998-1999, the Pakistani Army crossed the Line of Control (LoC) and occupied numerous heights dominating the National Highway and roads connecting Leh (Ladakh) and Kargil to Shrinagar.
